Until We Meet Again by Renee Collins

Happy Weekend to all my fellow readers. I hope everyone has had an awesome week, and has some fun things planned as January comes to an end. Is anyone going on any vacations? My hubby and I will be in April and I can't wait :) For my final review of January, I'm here to talk about an amazing time travel type book, Until We Meet Again by Renee Collins. Time travel books have become a recent favorite of mine. I absolutely loved Ruby Red , Sapphire Blue , and Emerald Green by Kerstin Gier, and also Timeless and Timekeeper by Alexandra Monir, so I was extremely excited to come across another YA book in this same type of setting. Here's the synopsis from goodreads: " They exist in two different centuries, but their love defies time Cassandra craves drama and adventure, so the last thing she wants is to spend her summer marooned with her mother and stepfather in a snooty Massachusetts shore town. But when a dreamy stranger shows up on their private beach claiming

The Revenge Playbook by Rachael Allen

Hello all my fellow readers :) I can't believe it's already almost the end of January. I feel this month has gone by so fast around work, and the renovations we've been doing to our house. I've been extremely grateful however, for the many amazing books I've discovered this month, and I'm excited to talk all about it in my January wrap up next week. I know I kind of got away from doing wrap ups, but I'm really hoping to get back on a regular uploading schedule with them, starting next week :) Anyways, today I'm here to discuss one of the amazing books I discovered this month, and that is The Revenge Playbook by Rachael Allen. I had previously read 17 First Kisses by this author, and while I liked it, it definitely didn't blow me away, but after reading the synopsis for this one, I was really intrigued, and decided to go ahead and read it. I'm so glad I did because honestly this book was amazing, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

The Mistletoe Promise Review

Hey guys, I hope everyone's having an amazing weekend. Its pretty snowy and cold where I live, so I've been enjoying spending time baking in my kitchen, and curling up with books. I know its quite a bit past Christmas, but I'm the type of person that can honestly read Christmas books all year long, and it's a Christmas book that I'm going to be reviewing today, as you can tell from the post title, The Mistletoe Promise by Richard Paul Evans.                                                                             For anyone unfamiliar with this particular book, here is the blurb from goodreads:                                                                                                                                                                   " A love story for Christmas from the #1 bestselling author of The Christmas Box and The Walk. Elise Dutton dreads the arrival of another holiday season. Three years earlier, her husband cheated on her

Birthday and Miscellaneous book haul

Good evening all my fellow book lovers :) I hope everyone is having a great start to their week. Unfortunately for me, I've been feeling a little under the weather for the last couple of days, and have been just trying to pull through work so that I can come home to wrap up in a blanket and curl up with a good book. And as you'll see in this haul, I currently have my pic of some pretty amazing books to curl up with.  This haul will be a collective book haul from Boxing Day (except for the book outlet order which I did a separate post on), through my birthday last week. And it will be my last big book haul for awhile as I'm gonna try and be good as we have something coming up in the spring that I know I'll be getting lots of books from. Here's my haul:                 First, we visited our local used bookstore shortly after Christmas. I really love supporting this bookstore, as not only are the prices great, but it is entirely a charity store, and all profits go t

Snapshot by Lis Wiehl

Good Morning all my fellow readers :) I hope everyone's having a great start to their week. Today I'm here to review a book that I finished over the weekend, and that has been on my mind ever since. This book completely blew me away, and I can't wait to tell everyone all about it. If you haven't already guessed by the title of the post, it is of course, Snapshot by Lis Wiehl. Before I begin my review though, I'd like to share a funny story about how me reading this book came about. In November of 2014, my husband had asked me for a list of the books I was currently wanting from Book Outlet. As I've mentioned many times before, my hubby and I both end up going a tad overboard when we see amazing book deals, and the Book Outlet Black Friday sale is definitely one of our favorites. As such, in November my hubby always asks what books I'm currently wanting so that he can purchase them for Christmas during this sale. One book that year, that I had really been wan

Lonestar Angel by Colleen Coble

Hello all my fellow booklovers. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I'm back today with a new book review, after taking a couple of days off to spend time with my hubby and my family for my birthday. It was nice getting away for a couple of days, and enjoying some quality time with my hubby. We spent a couple of days in a city a few hours from us, enjoyed relaxing in the pool at the hotel, and I did some much needed clothes shopping. However, the best part of our trip hands down was getting to visit Chapters for my birthday. I love love love getting to shop there, and we don't have one in our city. We do have a Coles, which I also love, but there's just something about getting to be in the massive shelves of books that compose Chapters that makes me one very happy girl. I will be sharing in a later post my book haul from this, but today I want to do a review on Lonestar Angel by Colleen Coble. I did an earlier review post on the first three books in this series h

Book Outlet Boxing Day Book Haul

Hello all my fellow book lovers. I know it probably seems ridiculous that considering how many books I received for Christmas, that I bought more on Boxing Day. But I just couldn't resist Book Outlet's amazing sale, and so I ended up ordering quite a few. I will have one more book haul following this one as I picked up a couple from other stores, and it is my birthday in a couple of days and my hubby's taking me on an overnight trip to do some shopping. After that however, I will be on a book buying ban for at least a few weeks as there's a special event coming up in a couple of months where I will be planning to buy lots of books, but I will talk more about that in future posts. Here is my amazing haul: Firstly I ordered a few adult fiction books.   Before and ever since by Sharla Lovelace who is one of my all time favourite authors,  Secretly Smitten by Colleen Coble, Denise Hunter, Diann Hunt, and Kristin Billerbeck.                        I got Palmetto M

Lonestar series by Colleen Coble

Good evening all my fellow booklovers. I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday :)   As I mentioned in my Bookish Resolutions post here: http://www.thepreppybookprincess.blogspot.ca/2016/01/bookish-resolutions.html   One of my reading goals for this year was to read more inspirational fiction. Its a genre that I honestly love, but I haven't read too much of it in the last little while as I always seem to be choosing books from other genres first. but I'm very glad to say that I've been reading more of it this year already, and I'm definitely enjoying doing so.   To sound redundant, I also discovered this series from one of Book Outlet's amazing sales (yes I do know I have a book buying problem,) as Lonestar Sanctuary was one sale for only .74 cents!!! Yes that is correct, this book cost me less than a dollar. At the time I had no idea it was a series, since my only other experience with Colleen Coble was reading Alaska Twilight a couple of years

Little Vampire Women

Happy weekend to all my fellow booklovers.   I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend, it's freezing cold outside here, and so I've been enjoying the chance to curl up with a book and a cup of tea.   I'm here today to review Little Vampire Women which was "adapted" from Little Women by Louisa May Alcott by Lynn Messina. I am going to preface this review by stating that I may have just been a wee bit prejudice going into reading this. I am a huge fan of Little Women. I have read it more times than I can count, I've watched the movies, researched Louisa May Alcott's life, chosen it as the subject of more than one of my papers back in high school, etcetera, etcetera, in short I really really loved that book. When I first came across this one it was once again during one of Book Outlet's huge sales (Bookoutlet and I are sometimes in an unhealthy relationship. I've gotten to know our mailman waayyy too well since I discovered the

The Reason for the Season

Happy Sunday To All My Fellow Readers :) Today I want to do a quick review of a book I finished at the end of December. I say quick for two reasons, 1) As the book was only eighty pages it will be a shorter review than normal, and 2) Our new kitten Katsa is still in the stage where she wants to be with us 24/7, so anytime we're home she's with us. As such she is currently sitting on my lap while I'm typing this so it will also be a shorter review than normal. Back in May, Book Outlet had a mother's day book sale that my hubby and I both took advantage of to buy a few books. One of the books I purchased was this devotional novel by Max Lucado titled Celebrating Christmas With Jesus: An Advent Devotional , for a pretty amazing price of 99 cents. I then put it aside until December came, and I looked forward to reading it as a way to really remember the true reason for the Christmas season. It always seems that the whole month of December always goes by so fast arou

Christmas book haul

For Christmas this year, I was one spoiled girl. I had told everyone that I mainly wanted new books for Christmas, and I received an amazing haul of good ones this year, thanks largely in part to the amazing sale that Book Outlet put on on Black Friday. I'm not going to give descriptions or really talk about any of these books, because I have quite a few to go through, But I do want to say just how thankful I am to my amazing hubby, family and friends for the awesome books I was given. I didn't expect to receive any of these for Christmas, I was honestly just thankful getting to spend quality time with all the people I love, but I am completely amazed and so thankful that I have all these beautiful new books to enjoy in the new year. Without further adieu, here is my amazing Christmas book haul First off, as you may have seen from my post about my bookish resolutions, I really want to read more inspirational fiction this year, and I received quite a few new inspirational

Favourite Books I Read in 2015

Hello all my fellow readers. Today I would like to do my 2015 reading wrap up, by listing the best books I read in 2015. I know a lot of people do this particular type of post as "the best 14 books of 2014, the best 15 books of 2015", and so on, but I had way too many favorites to wheedle it down to only 15. Also, you may noticed I list a lot of books that aren't pictured, this is simply because I don't own copies of all the books that are on this list. Without further adieu, here is the list of books that turned me into a total fangirl in 2015. These are in no particular order, I loved them all :)       Of Poseidon by Anna Banks: I completely fell in love with this whole story. Having grown up fascinated with the idea of mermaids, I'm always on the lookout for mermaid type books, and this is by far my favorite one I've ever read. I can't wait to finish the rest of this trilogy.   Rock and a Hard Place by Angie Stanton: This was suc

Bookish Resolutions

Happy New Year All My Fellow Readers. I can't believe it's already 2016! 2015 was such a whirlwind, and I can't believe it's already been a few months since I first started this blog. I hope everyone had an amazing New Years :) Mine was fairly uneventful as my hubby was working late, so I spent it just curled up with an amazing book at home. This actually worked out perfectly as earlier this week we got our very first pet together; an adorable 14 week old kitten that we named Katsa after the protagonist from Kristin Cashore's Graceling. She's such a sweetie, and I enjoyed just getting to relax and enjoy new years at home with her, since Christmas was so busy, it was nice to just have some downtime. Today as my first post of 2016, I thought I would share my bookish New Year's resolutions: 1) First and foremost, I have set my goodreads 2016 reading goal to be 350 books. This might seem a bit much to some people, but last year I set it at 300, and ended
