YASH- YA Scavenger Hunt Spring 2016

Hey guys, I hope everyone is having a fabulous week so far, and that you all are seeing amazing Spring weather, unlike us here where we're still wearing our parkas and mitts to work...brrrr lol. I will posting my March 2016 wrap up tomorrow, but I wanted to take a quick minute today to post about YASH, or the YA Scavenger Hunt. To anyone who's unfamiliar with this, it's a fabulous online hunt that goes through many, many authors blogs, and is a great way to discover new authors, exclusive content, and have a chance at winning some pretty amazing prizes. I'm having an awesome time with it so far, and I'm really close to finishing all 9 teams. If you're interested in checking it out, go to www.yash.rocks. But do it quickly, the hunt closes at noon on Sunday, and you definitely don't want to miss out! :) I hope everyone will take the time to check this amazing hunt out, and I will see you all tomorrow, when I'll be posting my wrap up. :) Thanks

Top 5 Wednesday: Least Favorite Book In Your Favorite Series.

Happy Wednesday To All My Fellow Readers :) It's time for another awesome Top 5 Wednesday Topic, this week's being Least Favorite Book In Your Favorite Series. Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme created by gingerreadslainey over on YouTube, and here is the link to the goodreads group if you're interested in becoming a part of it: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-Wednesday This week there were a lot of books that were popping in and out of my mind, as possible choices for this topic, but I'm pretty happy with the ones I decided on. :) 1) Dare You To by Katie McGarry: The Pushing The Limits series by Katie McGarry is one of my all time favorite book series, however I did not like Dare You To nearly as much as the other books simply because I found Beth's character to be downright obnoxious. I didn't care for the glimpses of her that were shown in the first book, Pushing The Limits , and I have to say that this book really did

Totally Should've Book Tag :)

Hey guys! I hope everyone is enjoying their Easter Weekend, and Spring Break for all my fellow Canadians out there :) I was planning on posting one more RT post before we leave in two weeks from today, but I decided to save that one for next Monday, as it will be even more exciting to write when we only have a week left! Instead today, I've decided to do another book tag, as I lately find myself becoming more and more addicted to reading these posts on other's blogs, and watching these videos on YouTube. Today's tag is the Totally Should've Book Tag, and this was created by emmmabooks over on YouTube. I'm exciting to be doing this particular tag, and I'm just gonna go ahead and get started. 1) Totally Should've Gotten A Sequel I would have loved to have seen this book get a sequel. I loved this book, but I definitely would loved to see more of the characters' relationship. 2) Totally Should've Had A Spin Off Series This

Dumplin By Julie Murphy

Hello all my fellow readers, Happy Good Friday :) I'm excited to have some quiet time today to reflect on what this day means to me, and I'm also looking forward to spending some quality time this weekend with my hubby, family and friends, including having one of my awesome friends color my hair for me tomorrow so it's all ready for Vegas :) . I recently spent some time on goodreads going through the list of all the YA books being released this year, and oh my goodness there's over 800 books on that list, and so many of them sound amazing! I think 2016 is definitely going to be an amazing year for YA, and I can't wait to meet a lot of these authors at the RT Convention in April. I'm here today to discuss a super hyped book written by one of the fabulous authors appearing at RT this year, and that is Dumplin by the lovely Julie Murphy :) This was my first Julie Murphy novel, and it definitely won't be my last. I've been hearing about this book

Top 5 Wednesday: Books You DNF

Happy Wednesday To All My Fellow Readers :) It's time for another Top 5 Wednesday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Lainey from gingerreadslainey on youtube, and the group communicates through goodreads. Here's the link if you're interested in becoming a part of it: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-Wednesday So I have a confession to make....... I almost decided not to participate in this week's topic. Why you may ask? Well, because I wasn't sure if I'd even be able to come up with five books to talk about for this particular topic. See, I have this super, annoying habit of forcing myself to finish books even when I absolutely cannot stand what I'm reading, which in the long run, I have no idea why I do because if I clearly dislike a book right from the start, all I'm really doing is wasting valuable time that I could be spending on books that I'd actually enjoy, but I digress, it's just something I seem to be

Authors I'm Excited To Meet At RT Booklovers

Happy Monday to all my fellow readers :) It's the start of a new week, and it's exactly three weeks from today until we leave for Vegas for RT Booklovers. I did a post a couple of weeks ago on some of the events I'm most excited to attend at the convention, but today I decided to talk about some of the authors I'm so excited to finally get a chance to meet. While I do read a wide spectrum of books, YA is definitely my fave genre, and as such, I'm very excited for the chance to meet so many of the amazing YA authors that are going to be attending this year. It would be way too long of a post for me to possibly list every author I'm looking forward to meeting, but I thought I'd list a few today that are some of my favorites, and talk about more events and authors in a post next week. :) To start with, I am beyond belief excited to get to meet Richelle Mead. I've fallen head over heels in love with The Vampire Academy and Bloodlines novels, and I'

The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Hello all my fellow readers :) As always, I hope everyone's having a great week. Today I want to talk about a book I recently read that was honestly a little bit out of my usual reading comfort zone. As you can tell from the title of this post, that book was The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. I am going to go ahead and say that serial killers are not my forte. I don't watch crime shows like CSI or Law and Order, and while I do love reading murder mysteries, they're definitely not typically the forensic science type at all, but this book just completely intrigued me. I really think Jennifer Lynn Barnes is such an amazing person. I always enjoy reading interviews with her and whatnot, and I've always wanted to give her books a try. While this book is definitely not a usual read for me, it just intrigued me, and I decided to go ahead and give it a try. And honestly?? I was really glad I did. Here's the goodreads synopsis to anyone unfamiliar with this series

Top 5 Wednesday: Fictional Items You Want

Happy Wednesday To All My Fellow Readers :) It's time for another Top 5 Wednesday Post. Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Lainey, and the group communicates through goodreads. Here is the group link if you're interested in being a part of it: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-Wednesday Today's topic, Fictional Items You Want, is a topic I know a lot of people were really excited about. For me, this topic was actually a hard one, as I found it really difficult to pick just five fictional items,  as it seems there has been so many amazing ones mentioned over the years, but here is what I went with: 1) The Time Turner Necklace From Harry Potter: J.K. Rowling has probably created some of the most amazing sounding fictional bookish items of all time, and this was definitely my favorite. I know using it caused Hermione many issues, but I thought it was such an intriguing concept, and as everyone knows from last week, I'm a

Book Tag: The Courtship Book Tag

Hello All My Fellow Readers :) It's Monday, and I hope everyone had a great weekend :)  Unfortunately ours was a bit rough, as our kitten had to have an operation on Wednesday, and has to wear a cone for a week. She's not the slightest bit happy about it, and we've been feeling so bad for her, especially watching her trying to sleep with it on. I know we'll all be happy come Thursday morning when she can finally take it off :) I can't stand to see my poor angel suffering the way she's been.  Also, my hubby and I both have caught the colds that have been running around our workplaces, so this weekend was not too fun of a time, but oh well it's officially four weeks until we leave for Vegas for RT BookLovers, and I know we're both anxiously awaiting this vacation :) I decided to do something a little different from my normal reviews today. I've always loved watching tag videos on YouTube, and reading them on other people's blogs, but I

Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

Hello all my fellow readers :) I hope everyone's having a great week. I can't believe it's already the second week of March! In no time at all it seems like spring and summer are going to be here, which is always exciting. Especially with all the amazing new book releases that are set to come out this spring and summer. I hope everyone's having a great Friday, and looking forward to the weekend :)  I'm here today to review a book that has been on my TBR list for quite sometime, and that, as you can tell by the title, is Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr. For anyone unfamiliar with this book, here is the synopsis from goodreads: "Rule #3: Don't stare at invisible faeries. Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in the mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty - especially if they learn of her Sight - and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens. Rule #2: Don't speak to invisible faeries. Now faeries

Top 5 Wednesday: Books That Feature Time Travel,

Happy Wednesday To All My Fellow Readers :) I'm super excited for this week's Top 5 Wednesday Topic, it's the one I'm most excited for this month: Books That Feature Time Travel. I absolutely love time travel books, and I've read some pretty amazing ones. It was actually hard to narrow it down to just five choices, as there's so many good ones to choose from, but here are my top 5: 1) Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier I read this novel for the first time a couple of years ago, and I completely loved it. I loved the complicated storyline that Kerstin Gier wove effortlessly into this book, and I really enjoyed both Gwendolyn and Gideon as characters. Gwendolyn's family was also such an eccentric, but hilarious group of characters, and I loved all the mystery, and intrigue surrounding the time travel gene. I've actually really been wanting to reread this series lately, and I'm hoping I get the chance to do so soon. 2) Miss Peregrine

RT Booklovers Convention Excitement

Hello All My Fellow Readers :) I can't believe it's already March. That is so exciting in so many ways. Why you may ask? Well, because that means that NEXT MONTH I will be at the RT Booklovers Convention in Las Vegas. If you missed my post about getting to attend this convention, and what it's all about, you can find it here: http://www.thepreppybookprincess.blogspot.ca/2016/02/im-going-to-book-convention.html Since RT is coming up so fast, I thought that today I would go ahead and share some of the things I'm most excited about attending at this convention :) Probably the thing that I am the most excited about for the entire convention is the "YA You're Never Too Old For YA" party that is being thrown by Colleen Houck and Stacey Kade. I can't wait to meet other adults, like myself, who are still enthralled with YA, and of course I can't wait to meet the amazing ladies throwing the party, and all the author fabulous a

February 2016 Wrap up

Hello All My Fellow Readers :) I'm here today to do my February 2016 wrap up! Just like last month, I discovered many amazing books, and I'm excited to share a little bit about all of them with you guys. I don't think I actually realized until I started typing this up, just how many books I read in February! But I definitely enjoyed the majority of the ones I read, and I hope to continue on with many of the series I read this month in March. One Star Books: Thankfully, I'm once again able to say that I had no one star books this month. I had a few that came close, but I was able to find something redeeming in each of them to rate them higher than that. Two Star Books: The One and Only by Emily Giffin: I've previously read Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and Love The One You're With by this author, and I've really enjoyed them all. So obviously I was excited at the prospect of reading her newest novel (newest at the tim
