Vegas For RT BookLovers: Recap Day Two

Happy Friday Everyone! I can honestly not even describe how excited I am that it's finally the weekend. We've had an insanely stressful couple of days around here lately, and I'm so ready for a break from it all. :( I'm happy to be here today with a new blog post for you all, and that is the recap of our second day in Vegas for RT Booklovers. This was the actual start of the convention, and honestly looking back on it, this was one of my favorite days of the entire week. So here goes my recap from day two of our trip. :) Tuesday April 12th, 2016 Today was a bit of an early start for us, as I had a long day ahead of me, and I knew that we should be expect to be in line early for the start of registration. We ended up lining up at about 8:40 am, and I was glad we hadn't honestly been any later, as there was already a huge line forming in front of the desk, and registration didn't open until 9! It wouldn't have been a big deal to me to register late

Top 5 Wednesday Catch Up

Happy Wednesday Guys! It's time for another Top 5 Wednesday Post! For anyone unfamiliar with Top 5 Wednesday, it's a weekly meme that was started by Gingerreadslainey on youtube, and is now being hosted by Sam from ThoughtsOnTomes. Here is the link to the goodreads page for anyone who's interested in joining, or just finding out more about it: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-wednesday I've gotten so behind on the Top 5 Wednesday posts, with being at RT BookLovers for a week, I ended up missing two of the topics, and I still really wanted to take part in them. So for this week's Top 5 Wednesday, I will be doing the current topic: Favorite Mothers, or Maternal Figures. And catching up on the previous two topics, Books with Hard Topics, and Books You're Intimidated By. So here goes my attempt at doing all three topics in one post! :) First, here's my 5 Favorite Books With Hard Topics: 1) First up, is Crash Into You by Kati

Book Review: Just Plain Sadie by Amy Lillard

Hello all my fellow readers :) I'm super excited to be back on my blog today with a new book review for you all. While we were at RT BookLovers this month (which I'm still working on getting the rest of the recaps from posted), I was lucky enough to receive quite a few ARCS. While I will definitely be doing a book haul from this event soon, I have been trying to read the ones that are coming out soon, so that I can review them before there release date. It's one of those arcs that I'm here to review today, and that is Just Plain Sadie by Amy Lillard. This is my first book by this author, and although it is part of a series, The Wells Landing Series , I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything by not reading the others before I read this one. To anyone who's unfamiliar with this particular novel, I'm going to start by including the synopsis from goodreads: "T he Amish of Wells Landing, Oklahoma, treasure their close-knit community, and

Vegas For RT BookLovers Recap: Day One

Hello all my fellow readers! I apologize for my crazy long absence, but I literally have been so crazy busy ever since we got back from Vegas, that it seems that I've had no time to catch up here. Between working extra hours at my work, and catching up on housework, meal planning, vacation laundry, etcetra, etcetra, I've literally been exhausted, and have had no spare time for blogging. However, I did promise that I would be getting back to my regular blogging schedule, and that is a  promise I definitely intend to keep. Although, first, before I get back to doing reviews, and hauls, and Top 5 Wednesday posts, I promised you all a recap of our time at the RT BookLovers Convention, and today I'm going to go ahead and start those by posting our recaps of day one of our trip. I apologize in advance if these are extremely wordy, I personally love reading trip reports, and trip recaps from other people's vacation, so I want to try and do mine in that same type of sty

I'm Back From RT Booklovers :)

Hello to all my fellow readers! I promise I didn't forget about all of you. We just got home yesterday from our week in Las Vegas for RT Booklovers, and I am honestly exhausted, sunburned, and sick of restaurant food lol, but I will be back to regular blogging soon, and I can promise that I have lots of info to share about the fabulous week we just had. What was my overall experience of this week? Honestly, one quote comes to mind: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." Why you may ask? Well I'll get to all that in the daily RT recaps I'll be posting later this week, and next week, but I will say that overall, I wouldn't change this week for anything, as I had some of the most amazing moments of my life, and I met some amazing people, who I felt blessed to have gotten to spend time with this week. So this is adios for now, but I hope to be back really soon with RT recaps, and my RT book haul, and then get back to my regular reviews, tags,

Raised By Wolves By Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Hello all my fellow readers :) Back in February, I did a review on  The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, which I really liked, and now I'm here to review another book I recently finished by her, Raised By Wolves. This was another book that's been on my TBR list for quite sometime, but since I've been on a book buying ban, I hadn't picked it up yet. I decided to go ahead and borrow it from the library instead, and I'm really glad I took a chance on reading this book as I honestly really liked it, and it was a lot different novel than I was originally expecting. For anyone unfamiliar with this novel and/or it's plot line, here is the synopsis from goodreads: "Adopted by the Alpha of a werewolf pack after a rogue wolf brutally killed her parents right before her eyes, fifteen-year-old Bryn knows only pack life, and the rigid social hierarchy that controls it.  That doesn't mean that she's averse to breaking a rule or two.  But when her curi

Top 5 Wednesday: Rainy Day Reads

Hello all my fellow readers :) It's once again time for a Top 5 Wednesday Post, and I can honestly say that I am extremely excited for all of the April 2016 topics. This week's topic is: Top 5 Rainy Day Reads. To anyone who doesn't know me, curling up with a book in comfy, lounge clothes, and a cup of tea, is my absolute favorite thing to do when the weather is dreary outside. There's something about curling up in my favorite chair, by my favorite window, that's even more comforting with the addition of raindrops hitting the windowpane. As such, there's many, many books I could have included on this list, and it was hard to pick only five favorites, but here are my picks for the five books that I always seem to want to read when it's rainy outside: 1) Twilight by Stephenie Meyer: I have honestly read Twilight more times than I could probably count, and yet it is still my absolute, favorite book to curl up with when it's raining or snowing

RT BookLovers Part Three

Happy Monday Everyone :)                            So I had planned this post to be a lot more detailed than it's ending up. Unfortunately, I've developed nasty cold, and I'm trying to finish it laying down with my phone. Sorry that it's not what I was expecting, but I'm still gonna go ahead and talk a little more about RT! Please also forgive the horrible formatting, the blogger app just does not like me today for some reason :( It's eight days until the start of RT Booklovers, and I wanted to do one final post on some of the things I'm most looking forward to about it. Before I start though, if you've missed my previous posts on RT, and are interested in knowing more about it, you should definitely check out their website: www.rtconvention.com If you're in the Vegas area, you should definitely consider attending. They have lots of options, including just attending the giant book fair (which is only 10!), or just attending teen day ($20), w

March 2016 Wrap Up

Happy Friday to all my fellow readers! I'm so excited it's the weekend, as I actually have the weekend of from work this time, but at the same time, I'm freaking out that we leave for Vegas in 11 days! I still have so much to get done, so I'm definitely going to be busy this weekend. I'm so excited for this trip, and I find myself talking about it more and more to everyone around me. As I've said before, it's my first time even going to a book signing, so I'm super excited, but also a tad nervous, and it's also my hubby's and my first time going to Vegas, so we're both really excited about that as well. Anyways, enough ramblings, I'm here today to do my March 2016 wrap up! So let's go ahead and get started: One Star Books: Yay, thankfully March was another month where I had no one star books. :) Two Star Books: March was obviously a decent reading month for me, because I also had no two star books. Three Star Books:
