Top 5 Wednesday: Books You Will Never Read

Happy Top 5 Wednesday Guys! If you're unfamiliar with Top 5 Wednesday, it's a weekly meme that was created by Lainey from gingerreadslainey on Youtube, and is now moderated by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes, also from Youtube. It's a great way to connect and engage with other booklovers, and the group communicates through goodreads. If you're interested in learning more about it, here is the link: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-wednesday Today's topic is "Books You Will Never Read: Whether it's from a series you've outgrown or don't wish to continue, or they are popular books that just don't interest you, let us know what you don't plan on reading." 1) The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey: I took a really unpopular opinion on this book, since honestly I did not like The Fifth Wave at all. I found it extremely boring, and hard to follow with how many viewpoints it was told from. Once finishing it, I honestly had

Kirby's Favorite Authors: Debbie Macomber

Hey guys! As we come to the end of August, I thought it would be kind of fun to start a new series of posts on my blog, and today I'm going to go ahead and do so. This series is simply going to be called: Kirby's Favorite Authors, and I will simply feature one of my favorite authors each post, and recommend some of my favorite books by them to all of you guys. Before I go ahead and jump into this though, I wanted to announce that I've finally emerged from the social media dark ages and got Instagram. I love connecting with other bookish people, and I completely love seeing the imaginative ways fellow booklovers are able to capture their favorite books in pictures. If you're interested in following me on Instagram, it's the same as my twitter @preppybookqueen, and I'd love the opportunity to get to follow you back! With that out of the way, let's launch this brand new series with a look at my favorite books by Debbie Macomber! To anyone who doesn&

Friday Reads: August 26th

Happy Friday All My Fellow Readers :) This has been such a long work week, and as well, we've had some repairmen in and out of our home this week, so I can honestly say I am excited it's finally the weekend, where I'll hopefully actually have some time to get a bunch of stuff caught up. But first I'm here today to do another #Friday Reads Post, which I haven't done in awhile. #Friday Reads is a weekly meme hosted by the Petite Book Blogger, and basically, you just share the books you're planning on reading over the weekend, whether or not you're enjoying them if you've already started them, and if you plan on reviewing them when you finish them. So here's the books I look forward to curling up with this weekend: Chasing Truth by Julie Cross: I'm currently reading this one through Netgalley, and I jumped at the chance to get to do so. I've loved Julie Cross' books Tempest and Whatever Life Throws At You, and hearing this one c

Today is once again Wednesday, and that of course means that I'm here to do another Top 5 Wednesday post. I always look forward to these as it gives me the opportunity to communicate with fellow booklovers, and see everyone's varying opinions and answers to the awesome topics! If you're unfamiliar with Top 5 Wednesday, it's a weekly meme that was created by Lainey from gingerreadslainey on Youtube, and is now moderated by Sam from Thoughts On Tomes from Youtube. The group communicates through goodreads, and it's a great way to become further involved in the book community.  If you're interested in becoming a part of it, or are just wanting to learn more about it, here's the link to the goodreads page: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-wednesday Today's topic is "Books You Want To Read Before The

Disney Song Book Tag :)

It's the weekend again guys! I'm definitely excited about that, but I am not however excited about this horrible humidity we are once again experiencing. Honestly, I'm kind of over summer, and I'm ready to bring on Fall! Fall is always my favorite season, as what's not to love about blanket scarves, riding boots, and pumpkin flavored everything, but alas, I think I'm going to be waiting awhile for those cooler days to finally come. :( However, I am extremely excited that our Disney World trip is getting closer and closer, and in honor of that, I'm here to post another book tag that I just recently discovered, The Disney Song Book Tag. Everyone knows how much fun I had with The Disney Book Tag, (you can find that post here: http://thepreppybookprincess.blogspot.ca/2016/08/the-disney-book-tag.html) and I'm definitely ecstatic to have discovered another Disney themed book tag. This one was created by Aria's Books on Youtube, and let's go a

Top 5 Wednesday: Favorite First Sentences

Hey guys! It's Wednesday, and it's of course time for another Top 5 Wednesday Post! For anyone unfamiliar, Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme that was created by Lainey from gingerreadslainey on Youtube, and is now moderated by Sam from Thoughts On Tomes, also from Youtube. The group communicates through goodreads, and here's the link if you're interested in learning more about it: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-wednesday Today's topic is Favorite First Sentences, and I think it's going to be a really fun one. I often feel that a book can pull you in right from the first sentence, and I'm excited to share my five favorite examples of this with you guys today. 1) Magnolia by Kristi Cook: This book's amazing opening line "Glancing out my window, I hold up my finger and thumb, creating a little frame around Ryder Marsden, who stands outside on the lawn below. I close one eye to get the illusion just right and then prete

A Week In My Life: Vacation With My Family Part Two

Hey guys! It's Monday, and as promised, I'm here to share the second half of my recent vacation I took with my family with you all. I left off with us getting ready to leave for Calgary, and so that is where I shall begin from today. Friday: Friday morning came pretty early, and we had a lot of packing and rearranging things ahead of us, since there was going to be six of us in one vehicle for the long drive coming up. Somehow, we made it all fit, and we were checked out of Cypress and on our way to Calgary. We ended up meeting up with Jaazy's mom and her cousin along the way, and had a quick visit with them, and planned to meet them later that night at the hotel. While the drive ended up being long and tedious, this day was honestly my favorite of the entire week. My nephew and I watched Thunderbirds on the dvd player in my mom's van, and I also curled up with The Season Of You and Me by Robin Constantine for quite a bit of the drive. Finally we were in
