Book Review: Rescue Me by Susan May Warren Contains SPOILERS!!!

It's been a long time since I last posted a book review, and it's definitely time to rectify that. Last fall I had the privilege of reading and reviewing Wild Montana Skies by Susan May Warren through Netgalley. The first in a new series, it appealed to me on the grounds of it being an inspirational novel set in Montana about a search and rescue team. Like really, what wasn't to love about this premise? Unfortunately, while I did really enjoy it, it didn't quite blow me away the way I was expecting it to, and you can read that review here. Despite not enjoying the first one as much as I had expected, I was still really looking forward to reading the second book, and since I missed out on it while it was available on NetGalley, I went ahead and ordered it from the library, and got ready to dive back into the world of the Montana PEAK search and rescue team. The Save Saskatchewan Library Movement Was A Success!

Happy Wednesday Guys! I hope you're all having a great week so far. Mine has honestly been really long already, but it's been an amazing week nonetheless. If you remember me telling you all in an earlier blog post ( here) The Saskatchewan government had cut major funding to the whole provincial library system, and as a result library programs all over were being forced to shut down, and certain rural libraries were in danger of having to do the same thing. Petitions and Protests were called to help show our premiere just what our local libraries mean to us here in Saskatchewan, and guys I can't even begin to express my excitement that it worked!! The Finance Minister has admitted that they made a mistake, and the library budget has been reinstated! On top of being ecstatic that the library will be here for future generations to love the same way that I have for so many years, it always gives me hope that there's still a good number of people in my province

Popular YA Books I Didn't Like

Hey Guys, I've been working on a blog post for about two weeks that I planned on posting today. Unfortunately, I've been having trouble taking the pictures with it as I've got an awesome idea for some outside shots, but it's been so cold and miserable in my city that we've literally still been seeing snow, and such, and alas, I haven't been able to take the pics for it yet. So instead I thought today I'd like to talk about some of the popular YA books that I really did not enjoy. Of course everyone's not going to have the same opinions on every single book out there, and these are the ones that just did not live up to the hype for me. 1) An Abundance Of Katherine's, Looking For Alaska, and Paper Towns by John Green: John Green's book were ones that I had heard about over and over again, literally from every single blog and booktube channel I read and watch, and so I couldn't wait to get my hands on them, and get starte

Current Library Haul

Happy Friday Guys! I hope all of you that were able to take advantage of Easter break and get away had amazing vacations! I was unfortunately working right through it, but oh well I did have quite a bit of time to spend with my books during this past week. It's been a few months since I last did a book haul, thanks to the fact that I'm still on a book buying ban, and thus, have not had any books to haul. I'm still missing sharing books hauls on my blog though, so I thought today it would be fun to do a library haul, since it's also been quite awhile since I last shared one of those. Here's the books I currently have checked out from our local library: 1) The Captain's Christmas Family by Deborah Hale: I'd had this Love Inspired Historical series on my TBR list for quite sometime, and my friend read it around Christmas time and highly recommended it. With the fact that the recent budget cuts to our library have made it harder to request books t

My 5 Favorite Books I Read in March 2017!

Happy Monday Guys! I hope you all had a a wonderful Easter. :) For us, it was actually a bit quieter than normal this year, and I ended up spending it a tad unconventionally. My family had decided not to do a big get together this year, and so instead, I planned a small dinner just for my husband and I. However, he was actually working for most of the day, so when I wasn't preparing dinner, I actually spent most of the day watching Christmas movies. That may seem a tad weird to some, but since we got a huge bunch of snow dumped on us on Saturday night, it honestly didn't seem that out of place to me. From Saturday night to Sunday night I actually ended up watching four: Back To Christmas, A Cinderella Christmas, Sound of Christmas, and A Christmas to Remember. I loved all of them, as everyone knows I'm addicted to made for TV Christmas movies, but my favorite was definitely Sound of Christmas. As well I spent some time on one of my favorite blogs, It's A Won

My 5 Favorite Cookbooks

When I first started my blog in September of 2015, I knew books were going to make up the majority of the content I shared. However, I said right in my about me section that I was also planning on sharing some cooking posts and fashion posts, since both are also important to me. Today I thought that I would love to share a cooking themed post, and share some of my favorite cookbooks I like to use in my kitchen. I honestly love cooking any time of the year. One of my all time favorite things to do is try out new recipes, and cook for my family and friends. I'll be having an upcoming post soon sharing the dinners I made for the week, but for today's post I wanted to talk about my 5 all time favorite cookbooks. While I'm definitely a fan of Pinterest, Blogs and Youtube for discovering new recipes, sometimes nothing beats pulling out an actual physical copy of a book, and my copies of these particular books have definitely been well loved ever since I got them. 1)

A-Z Book Tag

I hope everyone's having a great week! I'm enjoying starting to get ready for Easter, even though I think it's just going to be my hubby and I this year, I'm still really looking forward to it! I mentioned a few weeks ago in my A-Z Tag Post , that I was also planning on doing the A-Z Book Tag post, and so that is what I am here today to do. I thought this one seemed like a really fun tag, and is a great way to introduce my reading tastes to anyone who's never read any of my earlier blog posts. :) A uthor You've Read The Most Books From: For this one, If I went with more current reads, it would be Debbie Macomber as I've read literally tons of her books, however, if we're including childhood reads than it would definitely be Ann M. Martin as growing up I literally inhaled The Baby Sitters Club, The Baby Sitters Little Sister, The Kids In Ms Coleman's Class, The Baby Sitters Mysteries, and a bunch of others. Winterspell by Claire Legrand

Hey Guys! I hope your week's off to a great start :) It's Monday, and here's to hoping I'll finally have my blog back to it's regular updating schedule this week. I've finished quite a few books in the last few weeks that I'm wanting to review on my blog, and so today I want to go ahead and post one of those reviews, and as you can tell by this post's title, that's going to be Winterspell by Claire Legrand. Winterspell by Claire Legrand: Publisher: Simon and Schuster Publication Date: September 30th, 2014 Source: Library My Review: The Nutcracker was always one of those stories while I was growing up that deeply fascinated me. I loved it's Christmassy setting, the magic element of the Nutcracker prince coming to life, and the beautiful music and choreographed dances that filled my young eyes with wonder beyond belief. I only actually saw the ballet in person this last year, but I loved watching it on TV, and the numerous V

It's Been Awhile

Hey Guys! I want to preface this post today by saying that I owe you all a huge apology. For the last year or so, I've done really well at sticking to my three posts a week schedule, but I've failed massively at this the past month. Unfortunately, as I'd mentioned in a previous post, my job completely changed within the last six weeks, and I've basically been struggling to keep my head above water there. I knew I was going to be taking on a lot more responsibility, as another gentlemen and I together were going to be taking over for our people manager for her mat leave. Unfortunately though, she had to take medical leave way earlier than she was expecting to, and it's kind of been crazy ever since. For me and the other guy, this basically meant that we were thrown into a ton of extra work, while still being responsible for all of our own work, since there'd been no time to train anyone else before this all went down. Now I've really come to realize tha
