The Christmas Candle By Max Lucado Review

Happy Monday Everyone :) I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Mine was actually not too bad. I finally started feeling better on Saturday afternoon so I was able to make up some time at work, and then Sunday I was able to enjoy church and lunch out with my aunt and cousin which is always a treat. And to top it all off, my hubby and I went to do some Christmas shopping late last night which was definitely a nice way to end the weekend. I have another review for you all today, which is mainly due to the fact that I read so many books during the days that I was at home sick that I have quite a few reviews to catch up on posting. I've read several of Max Lucado's books previously that I've definitely really enjoyed, so I was looking forward to curling up with The Christmas Candle and seeing if I ended up liking it as much as I had his other novels. The Christmas Cookie Club by Ann Pearlman

Happy Black Friday Everyone! Are any of you braving the busy stores today to get a jump on your holiday shopping? I will most definitely not be doing so. I'm still fighting off this nasty cold, and it's my husband's birthday, so if I partake in any Black Friday shopping this year it'll be the online kind. And honestly, I always enjoy online shopping more anyways. It's crazy to think that Christmas is a month away from tomorrow, and I'm now even more thankful that I started my Christmas shopping back in July. I only have a little bit more to get done, and then I can spend December getting other things ready, working on Blogmas posts, and spending quality time with my friends and family. Amidst all the holiday preparations, I've definitely been in the mood to mainly read festive themed novels. I'd received The Christmas Cookie Club as a gift from my hubby for Christmas last year, and I knew it was one of the books I definitely wanted to read be

Christmas In Icicle Falls By Sheila Roberts

Happy Wednesday Everyone :) I hope you're all having a great week so far. Mine hasn't honestly been the greatest as I'm still fighting off this nasty cold, but I guess on the positive side it's given me lots of time to catch up with my neverending TBR Pile. Friday is my hubby's birthday, and I'm just hoping I'll be over it before then as I'm really looking forward to celebrating his special day together. However, in the meantime I'd love to share with you guys about one of the fabulous books I finished while I was in bed sick with this cold a few days ago. And as you can tell by the title of the review, that is of course Christmas In Icicle Falls by Sheila Roberts. I've really come to love this series in the last year or so, and Sheila Roberts has definitely made her way onto my favorite authors list. I'd been both anxiously anticipating and dreading this book at the same time, as I definitely didn't want to see this beloved

A Mom For Christmas by Lorraine Beatty

Happy Monday Everyone! This last week has been so crazy busy, that I was honestly worried I wouldn't have time to do any book reviews for my blog. Last Tuesday I had a big work meeting to organize, I came down with a nasty cold, I had a bunch of training sessions I needed to try and get finished, and our staff Christmas party is coming up in a couple of weeks, and this is my first year organizing it. All in all, I feel like I've barely had a spare moment to breathe lately, and when I have, I've been trying to get a chunk of my Christmas shopping done, and give my house a much needed deep cleaning. So I'm going to be downright honest and admit that I haven't truly found myself in the Christmas spirit much lately, and I really wanted to see that change. Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and I hate when I get so busy that I forget to take the time to remember that. On Saturday I finally had some time to sit down and curl up with a book, and so I

Christmas Season TBR Pile

Hello Everyone! I'm so thankful you're joining me for another Friday here on the Preppy Book Princess :) I love reading holiday themed novels. Whether it be inspirational, adult fiction, contemporaries, young adult...you name it, I generally love it as long as it's Christmas themed. I read Christmas stories at all times of the year, but there's something extra exciting about getting to curl up with cozy holiday stories in November and December, and so for today's post I thought it would be fun to share with you guys my current Holiday TBR pile. Christmas In Icicle Falls by Sheila Roberts: I'm so excited to get to read the last book in this favorite series. Christmas Tails by Melody Carlson: This was a Christmas gift last year, and I didn't get a chance to read it yet, so I am very much looking forward to diving into this holiday collection about animals. A Cliche Christmas by Nicole Deese: I purchased this one

Wednesday Wisdom: Learning To Truly Bless Others

It's Wednesday today, and I'm feeling kind of philosophical. This post is going to be quite different from my usual bookish content, but I really feel that it's something I want to go ahead and share with you all. As a child growing up in church, I remember consistently hearing about "serving," "being a light," "being an example," and "always giving to others." And as I grew into a teenager and a young adult, these were terms that began to take on new meaning to me, and I think I finally started to realize just how important they truly are. After all, the Bible is full of verses telling us to be a blessing to those around us, like Proverbs 11:25 "The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped." Helping others has always been something I've tried my best at, but it wasn't until a few days ago that I truly realized that sometimes blessings are done in such a teeny tiny wa

Sushi For One by Camy Tang Review

Hey guys! I've got a really fun book review to share with you all today. Unfortunately, I've had a crazy couple of weeks again lately, and so it took me much longer to finish this book than I anticipated. However, I knew once I finally finished it that it was definitely a book I wanted to share with you all today on the blog. Before I jump into my review, I wanted to take a moment to congratulate all the nominees and winners at this year's Christy awards. In particular, I'm so ecstatic that Becky Wade won in the Contemporary Romance category! You guys all know how much I looove her books, so I was so happy that her amazing talent was recognized. If you're interested in seeing the list of nominees and winners, please check out The Christy Awards website. And now let's jump right into the review Sushi For One by Camy Tang: Source: Church Library Publisher: Zondervan Publication Date: September 1st, 2007 Genre: Inspirational Fiction/

Merry and Bright by Debbie Macomber Review

Happy Monday Everyone :) Thanks so much for joining me today on the Preppy Book Princess.  Every Christmas season, I look forward to a new Christmas novel from one of my all time favorite authors Debbie Macomber. It seemed only fitting for her new novel to be the first Christmas themed book I read of the 2017 holiday season, and today I can't wait to share what I thought about it with you all. Have any of you guys started preparing for the holiday season? I'm personally about a third done my shopping, I've already started planning our family get togethers, and I've pinned so many amazing sounding recipes on Pinterest that I can't wait to make come next month. And honestly, considering the fact that we've had large amounts of snow dumped on my hometown the last few days, I've definitely been in the mood to do all of this. If, however, you're not really in the mood for Christmas yet, I can guarantee that this festive new release fro

October 2017 Wrap Up!

Happy start to another week everyone :) I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was a little uneventful as we got soooo much snow over the course of it that, other than for work, I actually didn't leave my house. And in the process of doing so, I had a really nice relaxing weekend at home with my hubby getting housework done, catching up on my TBR pile, and streaming many episodes of Riverdale on Netflix. Since we're almost a week into November, I thought today would be a good day to share my October 2017 wrap up post with you guys. I've mentioned in the past on my blog how I'd stopped doing these because they ended up being so long that it took me forever to type it all up, and wasn't the most interesting of posts for you guys to read. This was mainly due to the fact that I basically did a mini review for each and every book in my wrap up, and so I'm going to give wrap ups another try, but make them much less wordy and detailed. Instead, I'm s
